Analysis: Nova struck out six, walked one and threw 69 of his 98 pitches for strikes while improving to 3-0 in four starts with the Pirates. It was the fourth complete game of the right-hander's seven-year career with the others coming in 2013. He's walked only one batter thus far with Pittsburgh.

Nova is 2-0 with a 4.41 ERA in three starts with the Pirates, not walking a batter in 16 1/3 innings "We like his stuff,'' manager Clint Hurdle said. ''It was a tough day to be a National League pitcher. In the American League he's probably still pitching.''
