"We want to make sure everything's good. Right now, it's just soreness and rest. We'll see how he reports tomorrow and how he feels," Miami Marlins president of baseball operations Mike Hill said.
Analysis: Stanton had arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips in his right knee in 2012. Hill said the Marlins first became aware of Stanton's knee soreness when he came in for his workout on Sunday while the team was at Lakeland. Hill said there are no plans for Stanton to have an MRI, though that likely would change if the soreness persists. Stanton agreed to a record $325 million, 13-year contract with Miami in 2014.
