|Sep. 8 8:52 AM PT9:52 AM MT10:52 AM CT11:52 AM ET15:52 GMT11:52 PM 北京时间8:52 AM MST10:52 AM EST10:52 AM CT19:52 UAE11:52 ET14:52 - Byrd has been listed as inactive for the team's season opener against New England.

|Aug. 22 2:30 PM PT3:30 PM MT4:30 PM CT5:30 PM ET21:30 GMT5:30 AM 北京时间2:30 PM MST4:30 PM EST4:30 PM CT1:30 UAE (+1)17:30 ET20:30 - Byrd has arrived at the Buffalo Bills' facility, and will travel with the team for its preseason game at Washington on Saturday. The safety reported to the team Thursday evening, two days after the two-time Pro Bowl player signed his one-year, $6.9 million franchise tender. The Bills are scheduled to hold a walkthrough on Friday, before traveling to Washington.
Analysis: Byrd is not expected to play against the Redskins, after missing the entire offseason. He must also pass a physical. The NFL granted Buffalo a two-game roster exemption for Byrd that only covers the final two preseason games. That clears the way for Byrd to be on the active roster for the season opener against New England on Sept. 8.
|Aug. 21 12:28 PM PT1:28 PM MT2:28 PM CT3:28 PM ET19:28 GMT3:28 AM 北京时间12:28 PM MST2:28 PM EST2:28 PM CT23:28 UAE15:28 ET18:28 - Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley tells The Associated Press he hasn't ruled out having Byrd sit out the regular-season opener.
Analysis: Whaley says he's awaiting word from the NFL whether the league will grant Buffalo an exemption for Byrd, which would free up a roster spot. And he didn't rule out having that exemption extend into the season, if necessary. The request was made after Byrd signed his $6.9 million franchise tender Tuesday. The two-time Pro Bowl player has missed all offseason workouts and training camp in suburban Rochester.
|Aug. 20 6:12 PM PT7:12 PM MT8:12 PM CT9:12 PM ET1:12 GMT9:12 AM 北京时间6:12 PM MST8:12 PM EST8:12 PM CT5:12 UAE (+1)21:12 ET0:12 - Byrd signed a one-year franchise tender Tuesday night - a deal that gives the safety $6.9 million this season under the rules of the franchise tag.

|Aug. 5 10:23 AM PT11:23 AM MT12:23 PM CT1:23 PM ET17:23 GMT1:23 AM 北京时间10:23 AM MST12:23 PM EST12:23 PM CT21:23 UAE13:23 ET16:23 - Buffalo Bills president Russ Brandon says the team will take another run at signing Byrd to a long-term contract next offseason despite failing to do so this year.
Analysis: In an interview with The Associated Press on Monday, Brandon described the chances of reaching a multiyear deal as being "absolutely" realistic even though Byrd and the team are at a stalemate in talks. The two-time Pro Bowl selection remains unsigned, and it's unclear when he'll report by accepting the team's one-year, $6.9 million contract offer. The Bills prevented Byrd from testing free agency in March by designating him their franchise player.
|July 27 9:31 AM PT10:31 AM MT11:31 AM CT12:31 PM ET16:31 GMT12:31 AM 北京时间9:31 AM MST11:31 AM EST11:31 AM CT20:31 UAE12:31 ET15:31 - The Buffalo Bills are preparing to open training camp without Jairus Byrd, and without any indication when the two-time Pro Bowl safety plans to report.
Analysis: Contract talks are at a stalemate. The Bills retained Byrd's rights in March, when they designated him their franchise player by offering him a one-year, $6.9 million contract. Byrd has not accepted the offer, and is not required to attend training camp because he is unsigned.
|July 15 1:29 PM PT2:29 PM MT3:29 PM CT4:29 PM ET20:29 GMT4:29 AM 北京时间1:29 PM MST3:29 PM EST3:29 PM CT0:29 UAE (+1)16:29 ET19:29 - The Buffalo Bills failed to reach a long-term deal with free agent safety Jairus Byrd, and it's unclear whether he'll sign his one-year franchise tag offer from the team.

|June 11 1:47 PM PT2:47 PM MT3:47 PM CT4:47 PM ET20:47 GMT4:47 AM 北京时间1:47 PM MST3:47 PM EST3:47 PM CT0:47 UAE (+1)16:47 ET19:47 - Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley says he has nothing to report on the status of contract talks with Byrd, who remains a no-show this offseason. Whaley provided the update Tuesday after Byrd was the only Bills player absent for the start of the team's three-day mandatory minicamp. The practices are the final sessions before the Bills open training camp late next month.
Analysis: Byrd is not required to attend practice because he has not signed the one-year, $6.9 million contract the Bills offered by designating him their franchise player in March. The move allowed Buffalo to retain the fourth-year player's rights before he was eligible to become a free agent. Byrd has elected to wait in a bid to secure a long-term contract.
|Mar. 1 10:35 AM PT11:35 AM MT12:35 PM CT1:35 PM ET18:35 GMT2:35 AM 北京时间11:35 AM MST1:35 PM EST12:35 PM CT22:35 UAE13:35 ET17:35 - The Buffalo Bills have retained the rights to Byrd by placing a franchise tag on him before he was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.
Analysis: In making the move Friday, the Bills have essentially offered Byrd a one-year contract worth $6.9 million. Byrd isn't required to accept the offer, and he's also not prevented from negotiating with other teams. The Bills, however, will have the right to match any offers made to Byrd. Byrd has 57 starts in 62 career games. He has 18 career interceptions, including five last season.
|Feb. 18 4:06 PM PT5:06 PM MT6:06 PM CT7:06 PM ET0:06 GMT8:06 AM 北京时间5:06 PM MST7:06 PM EST6:06 PM CT4:06 UAE (+1)19:06 ET23:06 - A person familiar with the status of contract negotiations between the Buffalo Bills and Byrd has told The Associated Press the two sides are expected to meet at the NFL combine, which opens this week in Indianapolis.
Analysis: The person says there have previously been no formal contract talks between the Bills and Byrd, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next month.
