The people spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because details of the hearing have not been made public.
Analysis: Rice was suspended indefinitely Sept. 8 for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy after a video of Rice hitting his then-fiancee in an elevator was released publicly. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell originally had suspended Rice for two games. Once the video became public, the Baltimore Ravens cut the star running back, and the league banned him indefinitely. The league considered the video to be new evidence, giving Goodell the authority to further suspend Rice.

Analysis: The NFL has repeatedly said no one with the league saw the violent images until TMZ Sports released the video earlier this month. Miller said Thursday through an NFL spokesman that he never received the video.
Sep. 22 10:52 AM PT11:52 AM MT12:52 PM CT1:52 PM ET17:52 GMT1:52 AM 北京时间10:52 AM MST12:52 PM EST12:52 PM CT21:52 UAE13:52 ET16:52 - The Baltimore Ravens have scheduled press conferences for Monday afternoon during which owner Steve Bisciotti and coach John Harbaugh are expected to address questions about their investigation of the Ray Rice domestic violence case and their interaction with the NFL.
Analysis: Rice was initially suspended for two games by the league in July after a police summons stated he knocked his then-fiancee Janay Palmer unconscious on a casino elevator in February. After a video surfaced earlier this month showing Rice punching Palmer, now his wife, the Ravens released him and the NFL suspended Rice indefinitely. Commissioner Roger Goodell has said the suspension was extended because of the new evidence.
Aug. 1 10:29 AM PT11:29 AM MT12:29 PM CT1:29 PM ET17:29 GMT1:29 AM 北京时间10:29 AM MST12:29 PM EST12:29 PM CT21:29 UAE13:29 ET16:29 - The NFL players' union has appealed the league's indefinite suspension of Ray Rice. Rice was originally handed a two-game suspension in July under the NFL's personal conduct policy after he was charged with assault following a Feb. 15 altercation with his then-fiancee in a casino elevator.
Analysis: The grainy video, released by TMZ Sports, apparently shows Rice and Janay Palmer in an elevator at an Atlantic City casino. Each hits the other before Rice knocks Palmer off her feet and into a railing. An earlier TMZ video showed Rice dragging Palmer, now his wife, from the elevator at the Revel casino, which closed Sept. 2.

Analysis: Rice was arrested on assault charges following a Feb. 15 altercation in New Jersey in which he allegedly struck Janay Palmer. Rice has been accepted into a diversion program, which upon completion could lead to the charges being dropped. He received a two-game suspension from the NFL and a fine in excess of $500,000. He said he never intended to appeal the punishment.
July 24 10:39 AM PT11:39 AM MT12:39 PM CT1:39 PM ET17:39 GMT1:39 AM 北京时间10:39 AM MST12:39 PM EST12:39 PM CT21:39 UAE13:39 ET16:39 - Rice received a two-game suspension from the NFL on Thursday following his offseason arrest for domestic violence. Rice will miss the season opener against AFC North champion Cincinnati on Sept. 7 and the Sept. 11 game on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Analysis: The six-year veteran was arrested following a Feb. 15 altercation in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in which he allegedly struck then-fiancee Janay Palmer. The 27-year-old Rice has been accepted into a diversion program, which upon completion could lead to the charges being expunged. Rice met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell last month after joining the diversion program. Goodell ultimately decided to suspend the running back for two games.

Analysis: Newsome acknowledged he watched the TMZ video online and that it "doesn't look good." But Newsome said he has not yet spoken with Rice, who was charged with simple assault after allegedly knocking out his fiancee during an argument last weekend in Atlantic City, N.J.
