He threw three interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added 32 rushing yards on five carries and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Analysis: The three picks were an obvious negative, but Winston still managed to end a disappointing campaign on a positive note by averaging 316.8 passing yards with 10 total touchdowns and a 67.2 percent completion rate over the final five games. Tampa Bay's decision to retain coach Dirk Koetter makes it more optimistic that the team's intended franchise quarterback will bounce back in 2018.
|Dec. 24, 2017 6:11 PM PT7:11 PM MT8:11 PM CT9:11 PM ET2:11 GMT10:11 7:11 PM MST9:11 PM EST8:11 PM CT6:11 UAE (+1)21:11 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 21 of 27 for 367 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 22-19 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He did not throw an interception, fumbled three times and was sacked six times. Winston added six rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: A frustrating mixed bag of an afternoon for Winston, whose first two fumbles led to Carolina field goals and last one ended the Bucs' final drive. While Tampa Bay's season continues to go off the rails, its franchise quarterback has delivered really good numbers since coming back from a shoulder injury. He's completed 72 percent of his passes while averaging 305.3 yards with eight touchdowns in four games upon returning.
|Dec. 18, 2017 8:40 PM PT9:40 PM MT10:40 PM CT11:40 PM ET4:40 GMT12:40 9:40 PM MST11:40 PM EST10:40 PM CT8:40 UAE23:40 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 27 of 35 for 299 yards and threw three touchdown passes Monday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 24-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added 18 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Winston has thrown seven touchdowns and two interceptions over the last three games for a team that remains terrible.
|Dec. 10, 2017 2:14 PM PT3:14 PM MT4:14 PM CT5:14 PM ET22:14 GMT6:14 3:14 PM MST5:14 PM EST4:14 PM CT2:14 UAE (+1)17:14 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 26 of 38 for 285 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 24-21 loss to the Detroit Lions. He threw two interceptions, fumbled once and was sacked three times. Winston added 10 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Winston has back-to-back two touchdown games since returning from a right shoulder injury after failing to throw a TD pass in three of his previous four contests.
|Dec. 3, 2017 1:51 PM PT2:51 PM MT3:51 PM CT4:51 PM ET21:51 GMT5:51 2:51 PM MST4:51 PM EST3:51 PM CT1:51 UAE (+1)16:51 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 21 of 32 for 270 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 26-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked seven times. Winston added 18 rushing yards on five carries.
Analysis: Winston had missed the previous three games with a shoulder injury. It was somewhat concerning, however, that Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson still had quiet performances with him in there.
|Nov. 27, 2017 10:40 AM PT11:40 AM MT12:40 PM CT1:40 PM ET18:40 GMT2:40 11:40 AM MST1:40 PM EST12:40 PM CT22:40 UAE13:40 ETNaN: - Winston will start Sunday's game against the Packers after missing the past three games due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder.
Analysis: The 23-year-old initially sustained the injury in a 38-33 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 15 and aggravated three weeks later in a 30-10 setback to the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 5. This has to be good news for those who have Mike Evans, who hasn't been as productive with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center instead of Winston.
|Nov. 20, 2017 11:01 AM PT12:01 PM MT1:01 PM CT2:01 PM ET19:01 GMT3:01 12:01 PM MST2:01 PM EST1:01 PM CT23:01 UAE14:01 ETNaN: - Winston has been ruled out for the Bucs' Week 12 game against the Falcons.
Analysis: This means another start for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who showed some signs of life Sunday against the Dolphins.
|Nov. 17, 2017 11:43 AM PT12:43 PM MT1:43 PM CT2:43 PM ET19:43 GMT3:43 12:43 PM MST2:43 PM EST1:43 PM CT23:43 UAE14:43 ETNaN: - The NFL is investigating an allegation that Winston groped a female Uber driver in 2016, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has denied the allegation on his social media accounts.
Analysis: The Buccaneers acknowledged the allegation on Friday and released a statement saying they are in the "process of obtaining further information regarding today's media report. We take these matters seriously and are fully supportive of the investigation that is being conducted by the NFL." The NFL also released a statement saying that it has reached out to Uber to request more information.
|Nov. 13, 2017 4:11 PM PT5:11 PM MT6:11 PM CT7:11 PM ET0:11 GMT8:11 5:11 PM MST7:11 PM EST6:11 PM CT4:11 UAE (+1)19:11 ETNaN: - Winston will play again this season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers regardless of their record, coach Dirk Koetter said Monday.
Analysis: Barring a setback to his shoulder, the plan is for Winston to eventually be back under center in 2017. Doctors have told him to sit out at least two weeks and he will be re-evaluated following Sunday's game at Miami.
|Nov. 6, 2017 11:20 AM PT12:20 PM MT1:20 PM CT2:20 PM ET19:20 GMT3:20 12:20 PM MST2:20 PM EST1:20 PM CT23:20 UAE14:20 ETNaN: - Winston, who will miss two games "at least" two games with a shoulder injury suffered Sunday against the Saints, reportedly paid a visit to Dr. James Andrews. That's never a good trip, but the Bucs are calling the move a matter of protocol.
Analysis: Ryan Fitzpatrick will take over the reigns at QB for Tampa Bay, but likely is not a starter in most one-quarterback fantasy formats.
|Nov. 5, 2017 11:03 AM PT12:03 PM MT1:03 PM CT2:03 PM ET19:03 GMT3:03 12:03 PM MST2:03 PM EST1:03 PM CT23:03 UAE14:03 ETNaN: - If the Buccaneers are going to erase a multiple score deficit and avoid a fifth straight loss, they might have to do it without starting quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston remained on the sidelined - in uniform but with his helmet off - when Tampa Bay opened the second half on offense, trailing 16-3. Ryan Fitzpatrick led that drive, which lasted only three plays before Tampa Bay had to punt back to New Orleans.
Analysis: Winston had been limited recently with right shoulder soreness. In the first half, Winston completed 7 of 13 passes for 67 yards and was sacked twice. He also scrambled twice, taking a heavy hit on one of those plays as he struggled successfully for first-down yardage. The Bucs say Winston is questionable to return.
|Nov. 5, 2017 2:06 PM PT3:06 PM MT4:06 PM CT5:06 PM ET22:06 GMT6:06 3:06 PM MST5:06 PM EST4:06 PM CT2:06 UAE (+1)17:06 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 7 of 13 for 67 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 30-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added eight rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: Winston suffered a shoulder injury and you can safely write this season off as a busy for him. He's struggled through injuries and has been bad when he's been on the field.
|Nov. 1, 2017 10:26 AM PT11:26 AM MT12:26 PM CT1:26 PM ET17:26 GMT1:26 10:26 AM MST12:26 PM EST11:26 AM CT21:26 UAE13:26 ETNaN: - Winston (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game.
Analysis: Winston aggravated the injury last week against the Panthers and he obviously not 100 percent so fantasy owners should tame their expectations from week to week.
|Oct. 29, 2017 1:08 PM PT2:08 PM MT3:08 PM CT4:08 PM ET20:08 GMT4:08 1:08 PM MST3:08 PM EST2:08 PM CT0:08 UAE (+1)16:08 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 21 of 38 for 210 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 17-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He threw two interceptions, fumbled once and was sacked three times. Winston added 13 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Winston, who continues to play with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, failed to lead the Bucs to a TD for the first time in his three-season NFL career - 39 games, all starts. In the previous five full games he had started, Winston passed for at least 328 yards in four of them and tossed 10 TDs.
|Oct. 22, 2017 2:17 PM PT3:17 PM MT4:17 PM CT5:17 PM ET21:17 GMT5:17 2:17 PM MST4:17 PM EST4:17 PM CT1:17 UAE (+1)17:17 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 32 of 44 for 384 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 30-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He threw one interception, fumbled once and was sacked one time.
Analysis: Winston showed no signs of a sprained throwing shoulder that sidelined him during the first drive of a 38-33 loss at Arizona last weekend. In the five full games he has started, Winston has passed for at least 328 yards in four of them and tossed 10 TDs.
|Oct. 16, 2017 8:26 AM PT9:26 AM MT10:26 AM CT11:26 AM ET15:26 GMT23:26 8:26 AM MST10:26 AM EST10:26 AM CT19:26 UAE11:26 ETNaN: - The Bucs have announced that Winston (shoulder) will start Sunday in Buffalo.
Analysis: Winston was throwing in practice Friday after not being allowed to so Wednesday or Thursday because of an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. He had left last Sunday's game in the second quarter with the injury, but apparently it's not serious enough for Winston to even need one week off.
|Oct. 15, 2017 1:18 PM PT2:18 PM MT3:18 PM CT4:18 PM ET20:18 GMT4:18 1:18 PM MST3:18 PM EST3:18 PM CT0:18 UAE (+1)16:18 ETNaN: - Winston suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of the Bucs' game at Arizona and did not return. Winston left the field early in the second quarter holding his right arm limp after throwing three consecutive incomplete passes. Coach Dirk Koetter said X-rays were negative. An MRI was planned on Monday.
Analysis: This is a big blow to Winston, who was still trying to find some early-season consistency. Winston did say he's had the injury before. "I'll be back soon," he said.
|Oct. 5, 2017 8:44 PM PT9:44 PM MT10:44 PM CT11:44 PM ET3:44 GMT11:44 8:44 PM MST10:44 PM EST10:44 PM CT7:44 UAE (+1)23:44 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 26 of 46 for 334 yards and threw one touchdown pass Thursday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 19-14 loss to the New England Patriots. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added 11 rushing yards on three carries.
Analysis: Winston's final numbers actually look pretty good but that is misleading. He struggled mightily for three quarters with several inaccurate throws and was fortunate not to be picked a couple times. Winston did go over 300 yards for the third straight game but has only completed 57.1 percent of his throws the last two.
|Oct. 1, 2017 4:49 PM PT5:49 PM MT6:49 PM CT7:49 PM ET23:49 GMT7:49 4:49 PM MST6:49 PM EST6:49 PM CT3:49 UAE (+1)19:49 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 22 of 38 for 332 yards and threw three touchdown passes Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 25-23 win over the New York Giants. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked one time. Winston added 12 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: After throwing three interceptions in last week's loss at Minnesota, Winston bounced back with a clutch, turnover-free performance in which he came up with several big plays and nearly threw for four TDs (one was overturned via replay). The former Heisman Trophy winner could be set up for another big night when the Bucs face New England's porous defense this Thursday.
|Sep. 24, 2017 5:23 PM PT6:23 PM MT7:23 PM CT8:23 PM ET0:23 GMT8:23 5:23 PM MST7:23 PM EST7:23 PM CT4:23 UAE (+1)20:23 ETNaN: - Jameis Winston was 28 of 40 for 328 yards and threw two touchdown passes Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 34-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He threw three interceptions, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added four rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: Winston threw at least three interceptions for the fourth time in his career, and also fumbled twice, although neither was recovered by Minnesota. He did throw a pair of touchdowns and notched the sixth 300-yard passing game of his career. Still, this is one game Winston would rather forget and he'll try to rebound next week against the Giants.
|Sep. 17, 2017 1:33 PM PT2:33 PM MT3:33 PM CT4:33 PM ET20:33 GMT4:33 1:33 PM MST3:33 PM EST3:33 PM CT0:33 UAE (+1)16:33 ETNaN: - Winston was 18 of 30 for 204 yards and threw one touchdown pass Sunday in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 29-7 win over the Chicago Bears. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked two times. Winston added three rushing yards on one carry.
Analysis: Winston did not need to do too much because the Bears were soft in all facets.
|Aug. 18, 2017 7:32 AM PT8:32 AM MT9:32 AM CT10:32 AM ET14:32 GMT22:32 7:32 AM MST9:32 AM EST9:32 AM CT18:32 UAE10:32 ETNaN: - Winston continued his solid preseason in a 12-8 win over the Jaguars, completing 21 of 29 passes for 196 yards for Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Winston had two passes dropped, including what would have been a 43-yard touchdown strike to Mike Evans in the first quarter.
|Aug. 12, 2017 10:12 AM PT11:12 AM MT12:12 PM CT1:12 PM ET17:12 GMT1:12 10:12 AM MST12:12 PM EST12:12 PM CT21:12 UAE13:12 ETNaN: - Winston looked sharp in two series in the Bucs' preseason opener, finishing 9 of 13 for 99 yards.
Analysis: Winston helped engineer a 14-play, 92-yard opening drive after a penalty on the kick return set the Buccaneers back to their own 6-yard line. But, two straight incompletions on corner routes to Mike Evans resulted in Robert Aguayo's 20-yard field goal. Winston could be in for a big year with Evans a year older and DeSean Jackson on board to create even more space.
