SWANSEA, Wales (AP) Former Denmark international Michael Laudrup has been appointed new manager of Swansea, replacing Brendan Rodgers, who joined Liverpool earlier this month.
A statement posted on Swansea's official website on Friday says the Welsh club has signed Laudrup for two years.
Under Rodgers, Swansea became the first Welsh side to play in the Premier League last season, finishing in 11th place. The team also earned many admirers because of Swansea's attractive, possession-based style of play.
