BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) After becoming the only LSU player other than Shaquille O'Neal to block 100 shots in a season, Jordan Mickey has decided to remain with the Tigers at least one more year.
Mickey made his announcement alongside LSU coach Johnny Jones on Wednesday. He says the feedback he's received from the NBA is that he needs "to get bigger, stronger and faster" before turning pro.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Mickey was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection as a freshman, when he averaged 12.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and a league-leading 3.1 blocks. He finished with 106 blocks and recorded nine double-doubles.
