Freshman lead Indiana past Lamar, 85-72

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) In a game that looked like it was going to be a blowout early for Indiana, the Hoosiers found themselves in a battle late against Lamar Saturday night.

After leading by as many as 17, Indiana was forced to call a timeout with 3:37 remaining in the game when Lamar (1-3) cut Indiana's lead to seven. Following the late timeout, Indiana outscored the Cardinals 8-2 to close the game, ending in an 85 - 72 victory.

The Hoosiers (4-0) were led by freshman James Blackmon Jr. with 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including five three-pointers.
