DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Duke forward Ryan Kelly will be out for 6-8 weeks after having surgery on his right foot.
Team officials said Kelly had the procedure Tuesday at the Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The school has said Kelly sprained his foot March 6 during a practice before the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. He missed the Blue Devils' three postseason games, including an upset loss to Lehigh last week in their NCAA tournament opener.
Kelly averaged 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and one blocked shot while starting 19 of 31 games.
The 6-foot-11 Kelly creates matchup problems for opponents because he can float to the perimeter, draw the other team's big men out of the paint and either shoot 3-pointers or free up driving lanes for his teammates. He hit 40 3s this season.
